Will the Bali climate summit achieve anything?

Talks in Bali between countries from all over the world have been struggling to agree on a plan to cut emissions, with the US reportedly unhappy signing up to strict targets. Do you think the summit will achieve anything positive? Does the attitude of the US make you angry? Or are the talks a pointless exercise in the fight against global warming?

The Bali conference will achieve one thing, and one thing only, higher taxes under the "Green" banner. Money that will probably pay for the expected influx from the new Sangatte type camps the French are setting up instead of ejecting undesirables back to where they came from.

If any agreement doesn't include China, India and USA, it ain't worth diddly!

Have a spring-clean of the whole country, and keep only what we NEED.Implement all the green housing and other tech miracles we have been blessed with. Replace cars with trains. Stop food imports. Cut consumerism right back, people don't NEED this much choice, it's like a kid eating cake till he's sick. The government needs to make this happen but they pander to the public instead of leading us. The West's consumption has a huge impact on the rest of the planet, but people don't want to take responsibility and put pressure on govt to act. We can do this, but stop taking money money money as the only priority. Some will have to lose money, so what??

whether you believe that man is responsible for global warming or not,the Bali summit was a total waste of time,10,000 delegates flew to Bali,at what cost to the enviroment?and they've done nothing more than agree to agree to start talking about talks to agree to an agenda to start talks on agreeing to action on global warming, like the olb british rail slogan "we're getting there"
