Are CCTV cameras a waste of money?

Are CCTV cameras a waste of money?

CCTV cameras are failing to have an effect on crime, despite the huge amount that the UK has invested in them, a Met chief has claimed. Det Ch Insp Neville claims that criminals aren't afraid of the cameras. We have the most CCTV cameras in the world but is the cost of becoming a surveillance society worth it?

Since cctv came out all the thugs started to wear hoodies so you couldnt see their faces so CCTV hasnt cut crime

So who is sat there watching us is what I'd like to know.

I've seen some Police programs about real crime and the CCTV was clearly following 'perving' at young women just going about their business.

You don't know what or who is watching you these days.

They are good if it's broad daylight and they are well serviced. But most are rubbish and unable to be used in court.

No they do not cut crime that is an excuse to justify their use.

What they do is to spy on law abiding people going about their daily lives.
