CCTV cameras are failing to have an effect on crime, despite the huge amount that the UK has invested in them, a Met chief has claimed. Det Ch Insp Neville claims that criminals aren't afraid of the cameras. We have the most CCTV cameras in the world but is the cost of becoming a surveillance society worth it?
CCTV cameras don't help, they only take photos of aliens. OK, they have a head, arms legs and a body but they always seem to have the same horribly distorted face.
London.
Highest concentration of CCTV cameras in Europe yet only 3% of crime is solved using CCTV.
every thing thats bad in britain today is all the governments fault and brown should take the blame 100%. society has had little or no imput into the way things are whatsoever. we should continue on our path of anarchy and destruction for those who govern us direct us to. cos its all their fault. the little b*****d who scratched my car, browns fault. the drink driver who nearly killed the kid in the next street, browns fault. the armed robbery at the local off licence, browns fault ooh you should be ashamed mr brown. the rape at the local park, you got it browns fault. the litter on our streets, browns fault. the graffiti, browns fault, social unrest in our communities, browns fault. hospital super bugs, browns fault, anyone visiting patients without washing their hands or turning up in works overalls are vindicated and free of blame, its that dirty brown fella. overcrowding in the prison system, hell dont blame the crooks will ya, blame brown its his fault. cctv not catching enough crooks at the scene of the crime, browns fault. but holding sufficient evidence to eventually solve crimes such as the london bombings, nahh the government cant take any praise for that can they. i know lets thank the murderers and rapists and crooks who put the cameras up in the first place. but not brown.
CCTV cameras provide police and politicians with a chance to say "Look what we are spending money on to prevent crime and improve your safety." I think it's just petty minded of some people, to insist that the cameras themselves are either functional or effective in the fight against crime.
It's a bit like Mr Brown saying he cuts tax - Mr Plod needs it in his lap to solve crime these days!
