Does the universe have a purpose?

Are we cogs in a vast machine that performs some specific function? Is the universe the result of a random sequence of events or part of a grand scheme? What do YOU think?

its purpose is so the cia can plant terrorists all round the world so they can start wars when needed, doesnt senator cain look like hes from the same gene pool as bush
