According to a new survey turning the clocks back each year causes Britain to use much more energy than would otherwise be needed, and vastly increases our costs and carbon emissions.
In light of this information do you think that the time has come for British Winter Time to be scrapped? Would you welcome an end to it, and would you prefer the extra hour of daylight in the evening? Have your say.
might as well somebodys already scrapped the summer
hoffmeister from Surrey, despite having a name usually found on the can of a rather nice beer, your question deserves an answer. The answer is we Brits put up with our silly systems because we are usually too busy enjoying ourselves to stand around moaning..If this country is not the best on the planet why do you and millions of other foreign nationals want to live or work here
we need to become robotic/robot so we do not feel the cold or notice the dark or get sleep times messed up,evolution
Seems to me we should have left nature alone a long time ago. They kept BST for 3 yrs in 1968 but abandoned it. There is cost both changing the clocks forward and back, but the increase in accidents was actually changing 'to' BST not 'from' and was found to be from loss of sleep - so maybe the moral is to get more sleep and leave nature alone.
I can never understand why the Brits still cling to their old customs,British Summer Time,Brits do not like metric system, drive on the left,House of Lords, what are they for you have an elected democratic government why do you needs Lords, most of them are asleep when you see them on TV.you have an opposition party just like most European countries why Lords ?And why are Britain not using the Euro ?it will be the strongest currency one day yet i suppose the Brits will have to beg to change their currency just like they did when Genaral De Gaul kept them out of Europe, why are the Brits always last to conform. any answers please
