A Panorama investigation has highlighted potential risks from wireless (Wi-Fi) networks. The programme found some classrooms had radio frequency radiation levels three times those of a mobile phone mast. While mobile masts are not permitted to be sited near schools, 70% of secondaries and 50% of primaries use wireless networks.
The levels are still 600 times below the Government's safety limits and the official line says there are no risks of adverse health effects. However, some scientists on the Panorama programme linked similar radiation levels with an increase in cases of cancer, short-term memory loss and lower concentration capacity.
Do you think it is time the Government held a proper investigation? Are you happy about your children being exposed to the radiation in schools? Is it time to unplug the Wi-Fi transmitter in your home? Have your say.
no not really its merely a drop in the ocean compared with global warming and its catastrophic forcast
I didn't really know what to think of the wi-fi debate at first, but then, when I thought, I realised that wi-fi has been around for quite some time now and no one was worried before the report. It was wrong to show the report to the public, this has caused far too much concern which wouldn't have arrisen if it wasn't broadcasted to everyone. WHO'S AFRAID OF THE BIG, BAD WI-FI? I know that I'm not and no one should be. The report wasn't scientific enough to test many age groups any way. To all the wi-fi phobes; would you be afraid of wi-fi if you hadn't heard about the report?
Are you forgetting you can trip on wires? Or even be strangled?
Wireless is a safer option by miles.
Get a life, check your 1 KW micro wave oven seals in your kitchens, these pose a higher danger than wifi
Answer's quite simple: Don't buy the Technology
