Are you worried about wireless radiation?

A Panorama investigation has highlighted potential risks from wireless (Wi-Fi) networks. The programme found some classrooms had radio frequency radiation levels three times those of a mobile phone mast. While mobile masts are not permitted to be sited near schools, 70% of secondaries and 50% of primaries use wireless networks.

The levels are still 600 times below the Government's safety limits and the official line says there are no risks of adverse health effects. However, some scientists on the Panorama programme linked similar radiation levels with an increase in cases of cancer, short-term memory loss and lower concentration capacity.

Do you think it is time the Government held a proper investigation? Are you happy about your children being exposed to the radiation in schools? Is it time to unplug the Wi-Fi transmitter in your home? Have your say.

What worried me is the fact that the Government hired & paid for (out of our tax money) a "highly" educated & respected scientist/advisor to do studies on this topic, to advise them accordingly. Yet because the Government didn't like the answers, they chose to ignore it. (The same advise MANY scientists had - to do more research before implementing the technology).

What other things have the Government been advised against, and just decided to go ahead with regardless?

We've learned about many different technologies / things over the years. Like there are certain types of asbestos that are extremely harmful if not deadly to humans. Certain types of radiation etc...hence why you wear a lead "protective" covering when you go for an x-ray & the staff all exit the room.
Yet instead of heeding a warning from MANY qualified professionals before a possible problem occurs, we appear to be willing to wait and see if a problem occurs in generations to come, before we heed their warnings. By then, the damage may be too far gone to fix.

Here we go again the Nanny state speaks and half the population panics, if you want to stop global warmming stop the expansion of gas guzzling aircraft cramming the skies and putting out more polution than every human on the plane does in one year for one trans atlantic flight. If you don't believe me stand at the end of the runway as a plane lifts off you will choke in the fumes. Why are the public in general being blamed for this it is crimminal.
When is Tv going to stop scaremongering? even the news stretches every single story beyond the limits of what is believeable, just listen to radio 4 news in the morning then compare it to the News on BBC1 which is dramatised exagerated and rubbish in comparison.
Wake up people and stop believing everything you see on the telly.

I have worked within a radio/radar/microwave environment all my life, now retired, and would always argue the case for its safe use. I am happy for my grandchildren to enjoy the benefits of all the modern technology. This is the only way mankind can advance. The natural world is potentially a dangerous place and we have become so scared of our own shadow that we are in danger of limiting or even denying our children the advances we are making.

When your times up it's up, plain and simple, mobile phones and wi fi aint gonna cut a few days off lol.
