You are, of course, first in line to install Vista on your PC. Is it fun and easy to use, or another Microsoft product that falls short of the hype?
Every new OS that Microshaft brings out is more and more of a Nanny OS, doing things to "protect" you from "nasty" things out there, which actually stops you from using your PC for what you want to do.
It's annoying, and takes a lot of effort to disable.
Great. All those of you whining that it doesn't work, do you remember the first year or so when XP came out? all the hoo haa that caused because driver and application support was limited. Guess what its the same bloody thing. Don't blame Microsoft that your program written for Win95 that may work on XP doesn't on Vista.. big shock. I have seem many a forum / blog post from people saying there are going to wait until Windows 7 comes out. Do they honestly believe that the driver and application support will be there or will they bitch and moan and say thats crap. Just my 2 pennies. P.S I won't mention the fiasco caused by XP SP2. Oh dear I just have.
Ilike it. my wife likes my vis-a. alas the wife likes my visa mostly
I'm a IT tech and I will say this. Vista does have a use, as a door stop! I hate this program with a passion, bits are missing, not where you think they are, don't work like you think it does and now they have got rid of the industry standered you need a powerful PC to run it! Most of the old programs that y9ou have a paid for a licence for will now not run on Vista, so not only have you got to buy/upgrade your PC you now have to go out and but a load of new programs. There is one or two bits I like but over all I will hold out as long as poss before I use this OS.
Crap! Read quite a few computer mags on the subject of XP versus Vista. Verdict, XP much better in a lot of things. Vista to fiddly and unfriendly! Bits are hidden and you have to go round the houses to find them. Got two friends who are on Vista and they have both said it's the worst thing they have done in their lives.
I downloaded a small program from Microsoft it's self to see if, as it put it, would it work with my computer and equipment. Ha Ha! Diagnosis? My computer wasn't big enough to run it! Although it a reasonable number cruncher. My webcam, printer, scanner,BB modem and other bits will not run with Vista. So that's a good ploy to make me buy all new! And 75% of my software programs will not run with Vista. Some of it I have had since Windows 95 and run quite happily on XP.
If Vista was that good, why hasn't the big organations taken it up to use, as Microsoft hoped and wanted, and drop XP? Because from what I read about it, they tried it out and it was that good that they rejected it and threw it out as usless and stayed with XP!
