New Earth debate

A new planet has been discovered circling a distant star 20 light years from Earth. The mean surface temperature is estimated to be between 0 and 40 degrees which could point to the presence of liquid water or indeed oceans.

Scientists believe conditions there may be right to support life. As yet the International Astronomical Union is only referring to it as Gliese 581c, but let's face it, that doesn't have much of a ring to it. What should it be called? Does it matter? Will we ever go there? Have your say!

20 light years is an awfully long way when we have not yet learned how to travel faster than 20,000 or so miles per hour, and why should we try to reach such a planet in the first place?
