Are you worried about global warming?

Judging from our latest bout of crazy weather, global warming can't be ignored. Can alternative solutions such as nuclear, solar, or burying CO2 deep in the ground help? Are you worried by the threat? What do you think we should do?

It is already known that arctic ice has little effect on sea level however glaciers melting could effect sea level, we will see what happens next spring and summer.
If sufficient polar ice melts it will effect habitat and the economy of the local population.
    Nerys have you visited CAT?

Scientists skeptical of the assertion that climate change is the result of man’s activites are criticizing a recent Associated Press report on global warming, calling it “irrational hysteria,” “horrifically bad” and “incredibly biased.”They say the report, which was published on Monday, contained sweeping scientific errors and was a one-sided portrayal of a complicated issue.
“If the issues weren’t so serious and the ramifications so profound, I would have to laugh at it,” said David Deming, a geology professor at the University of Oklahoma who has been critical of media reporting on the climate change issue.
Deming, in an interview, took issue with Borenstein’s characterization of a problem he says doesn’t exist.

James O'Brien, an emeritus professor at Florida State University who studies climate variability and the oceans, says
"When the Arctic Ocean ice melts, it never raises sea level because floating ice is floating ice, because it's displacing water," O'Brien said. "When the ice melts, sea level actually goes down.
He called sea level changes a "major scare tactic used by the global warming people."

Oh well , its likely to be of little importance soon .

phyzx, a financial crisis is similar to the natural elements, you never knows what will happen next, your contribution to the global warming discussion has been first class, you deserve all the luck that may come your way.
Global warming is a scam and governments worldwide will be desperate for cash, but I am sure the global warming fiasco will not help very much, the greenies have been exposed and they have nowhere to go, except perhaps facing a prosecution in the near future resulting from a illegal entry charge.
Good luck phyzx and keep posting.

The fiscal meltdown ( preplanned ) will soon put a stop to anything except survival , ( everything will hit the skids )
This is why , ( i think ) that our wonderful troops will be returning shortly . The phony " war on terror " has changed not a jot , but home they are coming ?
They must be expecting some Civil Unrest , riots , social breakdown etc. ( never mind that we are losing in Afghanistan ) not that anyone has won there since before Queen Vic .
4 shops closed in my local town last week , many more to come I expect .
Global warming will mean nothing at all very soon .
The western world will become bankrupt first , we have the least to offer the rest of the world .
Cheer up , there will be plenty of time to be miserable , when the currency hits the fan . Not too long now .
